But store bought ones often contain added refined sugars and other preservatives...so why not make your own instead? It's cheaper, healthier, and you can make a whole batch at once to last you throughout the week!
Quick, easy and fuss-free, this recipe by Grazer Georgina Xuan incorporates our vegan Zesty Maple Nut Mix to result in a granola bar that's tangy, sweet and nutty with a hint of orange flavour! It's vegan, refined-sugar free, oil-free, dairy-free and suitable for a plant based diet. You can even customise it by adding your favourite ingredients - just remember to keep the ratio of wet to dry ingredients the same!
The best part? There's a no-bake option too: refrigerate it for a slightly chewier bar instead. Finish it off by drizzling it with some melted chocolate, a sprinkle of sea salt, or some of our 100% Nut Butters!
• 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
• 1 cup crispy rice cereal or puffed millet
• 1/2 cup chopped nuts
• 1/2 to 1 cup dried fruits like cranberries, raisins, or cherries
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/2 to 1 tsp spices, like cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice (optional)
• 1/2 - 1 tbsp orange zest
•1/2 cup + 3 tbsp maple syrup (adjust to preference)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 3 tbsp orange juice
Mix everything together and press tightly into a pan/baking tray - add more dry or wet ingredients accordingly.
Bake at 325°F for 23-27mins or until brown, leave it to cool before cutting.
